FENREACH
Terms of Service
Last updated 8 September 2026
These terms cover your use of Fenreach. By creating an account or playing, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the service.
What Fenreach is right now
Fenreach is in private testing. It is incomplete, it will break, and features will change or disappear. Access is currently limited to invited accounts. We may change, suspend or end the service, or any account, at any time during this period.
Your account
You need an account to play, and you sign in through Google. Keep your Google account secure — anyone who can sign in as you can play as you. You must be at least 13 years old. One person, one account; do not share it or let someone else use it.
How to behave
Do not use Fenreach to:
- break the law, or help anyone else to;
- generate sexual content involving children, or content that exists to harass, threaten or incite violence against real people;
- attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or work around its limits;
- automate or resell access, or scrape it in bulk;
- impersonate anyone, or claim your account is operated by us.
It is a fantasy game and fiction gets dark; that is not what this section is about. It is about the small number of things that are not fiction. We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules.
What you write, and what the game writes
Your writing stays yours. You keep ownership of the characters and text you create. You give us permission to store, process and display it as far as is needed to run the game for you — including sending it to the AI providers described in our Privacy policy.
Text the game master writes is generated by an AI model. We make no claim of ownership over it and we cannot promise it is original, accurate or unique to you — a model may produce similar text for someone else. Treat it as part of your game, not as a work you can rely on owning.
Everything else — the software, the engine, the rules content, the artwork and the name — belongs to us or our licensors and is not yours to take.
The AI will get things wrong
The story is written by an AI model. It can produce text that is inaccurate, inconsistent, offensive or simply strange. Nothing it says is advice of any kind, and none of it is a statement by us. Report anything genuinely alarming and we will look at it.
Money
Fenreach is free during private testing, and nothing has ever been charged to any account. Paid plans are not switched on. When they are, the rules below are the ones that will apply, and no existing account will start paying without being shown the price and saying yes to it first.
Paid plans, when they start
- What you buy is an allowance. Playing costs us money — every reply the game master writes is billed to us by the company whose AI model wrote it — and a plan buys you an amount of that spending. Your account page explains it in full and shows what is left. We do not sell a number of turns, because a turn has no fixed price.
- There is no free tier and no free trial. A paid plan pays from the first turn. We would rather say that plainly than advertise a trial that quietly becomes a bill.
- It renews by itself, once a year on the day you signed up, at the price shown to you when you agreed, until you cancel. You will be shown the price, the renewal date and what renews before you are charged anything, you will have to agree to it in so many words, and we keep a record of that agreement.
- We will remind you before each renewal, and at least once a year, of what you are subscribed to, what it costs and how to cancel.
- You will get a copy of the agreement you can keep, sent to you within fifteen days of making it.
- Cancelling is one button on your own account page, at any time, with no phone call and nobody to talk to — and it keeps working when a payment has failed. Being behind on a payment will never be the reason you cannot cancel or cannot fix your card.
- Allowance you have not used does not turn into money. It is not refundable or transferable. What happens to it when a plan renews is set out on your account page, pot by pot, with the date each one expires.
- Tax is added where we are required to charge it, and shown before you pay.
If we change a price or what a plan includes, the change applies from your next renewal and we will tell you before it does. It never applies backwards to something you have already bought.
No warranty, and limits on liability
Fenreach is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost — please do not treat a campaign as an irreplaceable archive. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us, which during private testing is nothing.
Some places do not allow those limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law allows.
Ending it
You can stop and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if we stop running the service. The sections about ownership, warranties and liability survive.
Changes
We will update these terms as the service grows and change the date above. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
